Milestone\Liveband Tribute Night
On the 18th of July the club will be holding a semi formal sit down dinner to celebrate the milestones of 3 of our clubs most loyal clubmen. Matthew Cullen (300 games), Darren Bennett (250), and Dale Greaves (250) reach these fantastic milestones in the coming weeks which will be celebrated together on the 18th of July. The meal and presentations will be followed by a live band for entertainment and will be night not to be missed. Bookings are essential as we need to know numbers for the meals and numbers just might be limited so get in early. The night is after the Werribee Centrals game so pencil in the date and make sure you come along and help celebrate with 3 3 of Corios favourite sons.

Volunteers
This week is John Groot who every week does all the little things that everyone else seems to forget. Whether its collecting balls at games, after games grabbing forgotten jumpers and taking them home to wash, collecting warm up jackets, or cleaning the changerooms, John is prepared to do it and is constantly looking around to see what needs to do be done. His first year with the Seniors John is proving to be a very valuable club person and we would like to thank you for your ongoing support.
Vale
To all the Papazoglou family the Corio Community Sports Club extents their heart felt sympathy for the very sad news that Connor passed away on Monday. Conner was a very courageous, determined, skilled, team player for our U\10 agegroup. It was his first year of footy and he showed great sportsmanship and our hearts are with you at this terribly sad time. RIP Connor

The U\16s are making a late charge for finals after having it made difficult by the unfair grading system. The boys have knocked off the top team 2 weeks in a row but need to keep winning to make finals this year. Coaches Rusty and Troy believe the side is good enough to go all the way but the boys will need to remain focused for the rest of the home and away season to give themselves a chance at September action

The seniors played good team football and showed a hint that their season just might be turning around. Bazza did what he does best and threw himself into every pack and was inspirational to his teammates as he got the at will for most of the match. Lets hope Fergi can stay injury free as last week he was in super form picking up a heap of touches and once again running the opposition into the ground. Cliffy marked everything that came his way and slotted through 8 goals and incredibly did this with very little sleep and a cold. Manno showed his class running riot up and down the wings and was able to bag 7 majors with most of them coming from his trademark and accurate banana screw kicks. Rick and Kevi Bartlett were two other players who won plenty of the ball around the stoppages and provided numerous opportunities for our forwards. Stewy also found plenty of the ball and battled well in a crash and bang rucking game. Roges continues to play well across the half back flank and put on some vice like tackles against some much bigger opponents. Backmen Jason Huhn, Danny, Lozza and Benny in his 250th game all did their job and linked up well running the ball out of defence time and time again. All in all it was a fitting victory worthy of Bennys 250th game who was chaired off the ground after a very promising win for the club.
Reserves Vs Anakie away Corio 17-13-115 to 6-4-40
Goals: Andrew Williams 3, Matthew Cullen 2, John Bartolo 2, Ben Drayton 2, Clint Eldredge 2, Jacob Neal 2, Robbie Walton 2, Shaun Gundry, Michael Baumann
Best: Michael Baumann, Robbie Walton, Dale Greaves, Clint Eldredge, Ben Drayton, Jacob Neal, Matthew Cullen, Trent Hogan, Andrew Williams
Another milestone game with Bowy playing is 100th and Robbie playing his 150th for the club. Bowy dominated in areas of the game as he marked, spoiled, tackled, and cleared the ball out of defence with blistering pace. Robbie marked strongly and yes, kicked accurately for goal kicking 2 majors and setting up several others. Gravy and Eldo were both at the top of their games getting plenty of ball and making numbers at most of the stoppages. Bulldog Benny Drayton doesn’t know how to play any other way and once again played a desperate game with plenty of tackles, chasing, and smothering in yet another standout game. Scratcher played a gutsy game getting a heap of touches and putting his body on the line and is a player that continues to improve as the season unfolds. Old timers Willy and Mullett ran riot showing they are still a class above the opposition reading the play well to get the ball and set up team mates with precision foot skills. Hoges and Dowie also deserve a mention playing well as did the majority of the team in another dominating performance by the reserves.
U\18 Vs Thomson away Corio 13-9-87 to 5-8-38
Goals: Chad Vanderlee 3, Daniel Scott 3, Ryan Loone Garcia 2, Josh Cleary, Ash Cullen, Shaun Hastings, Harley Hunter, Dylan Taylor,
Best: Josh White, Steven Grooby, Dane Burke, Corey Burke, Ryan Loone Garcia, Rhys Marshall
