Codes of Conduct
The following Code of Conduct applies to all Committee members, officials, players and supporters of the Inverleigh Football & Netball Club. The Code of Conduct sets out the minimum standards of conduct for those participating in club activities, both on and off the field.
A player, member or committee person of the Inverleigh Football & Netball Club must at all times behave in a manner that is not likely to be detrimental to the image or character of the club, its sponsors or the community in which the club is located.
At all times you shall:
Players Code of Conduct:
- Be honest and show loyalty and respect when dealing with other players, coaches and staff.
- Respect the clubrooms of other clubs as you are expected to respect your own.
- Develop self-discipline and consistency with your training and how you play the game.
- Promote the game within the community we live.
- Accept the umpires’ decision AT ALL TIMES. Your role in the team is not to respond to the umpire in a negative or demeaning way.
- Use the WE not ME concept. Unselfish Footballers/Netballers make successful teams.
- Be punctual to training and match day times.
- Be a paid member of the club.
- Players and officials are encouraged to wear club attire to all home and away games, and when representing the club at any official events where the club is being represented.
Parents and Supporters Code of Conduct:
- Remember that you are there to help the participants enjoy the game. .
- Never ridicule mistakes or losses – supporters are there to support not downgrade.
- Respect all players, coaches, umpires and spectators – physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
- Recognise all volunteers who are giving up their valuable time.
- Never publicly criticise umpires – raise personal concerns with club officials in private.
- Don’t use demeaning remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability – The Club does not stand for vilification of any sort.
- Teach that enjoyment is more important than winning.
- Drink responsibly and adhere to the rules outlined by the clubs liquor license.
Further to the above the Inverleigh Football & Netball Club does not condone the following under any circumstances:
- Racism of any nature.
- Underage drinking.
- Taking of non-prescription drugs or illegal substances.
- No loud swearing on or near the playing arena.
In the event of a breach of this code, the offending person/s will be notified by the club in writing and given 14 days to rectify. The Inverleigh Football & Netball Club, after due consideration of the misdemeanor, reserve the right to disqualify, suspend or otherwise penalize any person associated with the club. These outcomes will be determined in accordance with the clubs Grievance and Complaints Policy and Procedure.
