2nd week finals 2008
Finals time is what footy is all about. It is the best time of the year and it is a fantastic effort by the Barooga Football Netball Club to have 5 teams involved.
The footy came to its inevitable conclusion in the last minor round game with the Seniors and Reserves recording comfortable wins against the bottom side, Finley. The Under 17s and Under 14s both put up respectable performances but were outclassed by the young Cats sides.
Award winners in the Under 14s were Arty Rootsey (Outdoor Indulgence), Daniel Davis (Barooga Bakery), Hayden Mustica (Barooga General Store) and Matt Demaio (Healthy Foods).
Under 17 awards went to Tom Currie (Menthas), Josh McGaw (Andrew Jenkins Real Estate), Sam Jenkins (Babcon Hire), Zeke Bunge (Barooga General Store) and Riley Brooks (Barooga Bakery).
In the Reserves Adam Fox (Barooga Hotel), Glen Nye (Babcon Hire), Ben McNeill (Bottom Pub) and Ben Ryan (Barooga Sporties) were the better players.
Brent Chapman and Sam Ryan won Major Incentive Awards for the Seniors while Stuey Galloway and Chris Gallagher received the Minor Incentives.
Thank you very much to all of these fabulous Sponsors. Your generosity is very much appreciated by the players and the Barooga Football Netball Club and we look forward to your continuing support.

Dont forget the Senior Presentation night is to be held on Saturday September 13th.
This weekend sees 4 sides representing the Hawks with the Seniors and Reserves taking on the might of Moama.
The Hawks will need to be at the top of their game in the Seniors as Moama have had the wood on them in both encounters this year. The Reserves have yet to be defeated and will go in as favourites but cant afford to take the Magpies lightly. Both games should be crackers and hopefully the Hawks will take the quick passage straight to the Grand Final.
Good luck to the C Reserves and B Grade netball sides this weekend too!!!
Go the Hawks!!! ~ Squawk!!!
Netball: After a wintry weekend of Elimination Finals our Barooga Netballers gave all they had, with C Grade starting it all off on Saturday at Congupna. The girls fought hard all game in a very much determined and focused Mulwala side. It is a credit to our girls that they gave it their all and did not once drop their heads. A ripper first 2 quarters had us only down by 2 at half time, but Mulwala was able to notch it up a gear that we could not compete with on the day. Congratulations girls on all your efforts and improvements this year, lets bring on 2009! Well Done.
Sundays 4 seasons in one day found Baroogas B Grade playing at Nathalia against Numurkah. The B Grade girls have been playing some consistent netball over the last couple of weeks and, with a good blend of youth and experience which continued right throughout the game. The defenders were a tower of strength and the shooters showing their accuracy and improvement over the year, with the mid court bringing the 2 ends together to bring home a controlled and comfortable win 37-20. Well done girls you have all definitely found your form at the right end of the year. Best of luck for Sunday against Deni totally different encounter this time round. We also find our C Res girls on the hunt for last years victory. They have set themselves the best path possible and find themselves up against Echuca United on Saturday, who we have crossed paths once with this season with the hawks losing, but Coach Dunn will have the girls well prepared for this encounter and redemption will be top priority. Best of luck to all sides playing this weekend both netball and football represent your club proudly. Go Hawks!!!
