Welcome to the first home game of the season.
Today we meet our old foes, Cobram, and a warm welcome to all players, members and supporters from the other side of the river. We hope you enjoy our hospitality today.
We also welcome all new Hawk footballers and netballers. We certainly hope you enjoy success in the Maroon and Gold and stay on well into the future. Im sure youll all build memories that will last a lifetime and that the Hawks spirit will become a part of you. Who knows you may even find a husband, wife or life partner and settle here!!
We couldnt have asked for a much better start to the season than the one weve had. Two emphatic wins, over sides that were considered by many good judges to be big improvers in 2008, have the Seniors sitting near the top of the MFL ladder. The Reserves have also hit the ground running by notching impressive wins in their opening 2 encounters. Even the Thirds already have a win under their belts and are looking forward to a much improved season this year. The Fourths looked the goods against Tocumwal but met a determined and skilful Numurkah side in round two so theyll need to regroup this week.
The netballers began well too, winning all but one game in the season opener before stumbling a little against Numurkah with the C grade, C reserves and Under 10s our only winners. Its early days yet and we will see all sides settle down and play some great netball as the season progresses..

TELL ME ITS NOT TRUE!!
Has DOC really beefed up in his lay off from preseason training. Rumours abound that hes had to work extra hard to get down to his playing weight. Was he really seen shopping in the Big Mans Shop, surely that wasnt him purchasing extra large Y-fronts and scoffing cream cakes for morning tea!!! Porky OCallaghan was even offered as an alternative nickname for the great man. DOC tell me its not true!!!!!!!
A picture tells a thousand words!!
ALBURY CUP
Rumour also has it that three prominent Hawk supporters and local businessmen had trouble, not only locating their vehicle, but changing a tyre, finding their way home and one even left his mobile behind after the Albury Cup. Well protect the innocent Local Builder, Service Centre Proprietor and Handyman to save them any embaressment by not naming them!!!
Good luck to all sides today!!!
GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!
