The Deniliquin Rams Football and Netball Club plays a vital role within our community.
Not only is it home to more than 150 senior and junior footballers and netballers, it is the preferred venue for several other sporting clubs.
The Hardinge street oval is the home ground for the Deniliquin Drovers Rugby Union Club, the local touch football association, , Auskick and Little Athletics.
The manicured Hardinge street oval is one of Deniliquin’s premier sporting venues due to its lush surface, spacious playing area, two netball courts and excellent facilities.
The ground also hosts local and regional school sporting events such as the annual Chummy Bartlett Shield.
Like many sporting arenas, the Hardinge street oval requires constant attention to maintain its reputation.
The Rams Football and Netball Club has committed to several community fundraising efforts to ensure the venues needs are met.
The club coordinates a scrap metal service where committee men and players collect scrap metal and sell it to a merchant as a way of raising money. It can be hard work but the reward is worth it.
Each year the club also operates a bar at the Ute Muster as a way of pitching in and raising much needed money. Players and committee offer their time to serve at the bar, for which the club is paid for its service.
Operating a prominent sporting facility takes time, money, plus plenty of volunteer labour. Volunteers for working bees, scrap metal collection and the clubs bar and canteen are always welcome.
If you are interested in getting involved with the club in any way, don’t hesitate to contact a committee person.
