     ABOUT US 

The Club was formed in 1946 and competed in the Mountain District
Football Association until 1966 when the MDFA amalgamated with the
Yarra Valley Football League to form the Yarrra Valley-Mountain
District Football & Netball League (YVMDFNL).

The founding fathers of the Club were, in the main, returned
servicemen who lived in Upwey and the adjoining township of Tecoma
(thus the name Upwey-Tecoma). They chose the tiger as the Club's emblem
and so the Club is more commonly known as the "Upwey Tigers". Our home
ground is officially called the "Alistair Gillies Oval" but everyone
knows it simply as "The Dome"

 For the uninitiated, Upwey is situated some 35 kilometres east of
Melbourne, which is the capital city of the Australian state of
Victoria, and the other half of the Club's name, Tecoma, is another
couple of kilometres further east. We are a couple of the many small
townships to be found in the Dandenong Ranges, which is a popular
destination for day trippers and picnicers who are entranced by the
natural scenic beauty and the many wonderful gardens in the area.

The Club fields Senior, Reserves and Under 18 teams in the YVMDFNL
First Division and we also have a team in the Veterans
competition. We also field 4 Netball Sides.Our sister Club, the Upwey-Tecoma Junior Football Club, fields teams in the Under 10,Under 11, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16
grades of the Dandenong Ranges Junior Football League.

**Thursday Night Dinner Crew

 The Dinner crew are looking for recruits, they will be having a planning session over Dinner this Thursday at the RSL from 6.30pm. If you can help, even if it is only occasionally, get down to the RSL or catch up with Carole Charles at the Canteen on any Thursday night through the season.  

**Working Bee – Sunday 28th March. We will be holding a working bee on Sunday at 10am for an hour or so to do some important maintenance items, if you can come down with a broom or shovel or even a wheel barrow it will be appreciated.

**Season Launch We were going to hold a low key season launch this Saturday, but have decided to hold the launch on Thursday the 9th of April as part of the Thursday night team announcements. Put this night in your diaries.

 **Practice Match

 We are playing Mooroolbark at the Dome this Saturday, all times are per season times – Unders 10.15pm, Reserves Midday, Seniors at 2.10pm – come down and have a look.
