"Banking the 4 points" from 'The Outer Eye'
Norwood travelled to Knox for Rd 15 action in a game that they were universally expected to win, and win easily. Sometimes, footy just doesn't transpire the way everyone thinks it will. That's when you get upsets, or at least results that don't pan out according to the script.
“Monky Business” from ‘The Outer Eye’
Early in 2012 we were playing East Ringwood away, the game was going well, and our big ruckman was having a blinder. A nearby associate casually mentioned out loud that big Jonathan “Monky” Wynn might just about be the best ruckman in the EFL. Overhearing that, current assistant coach Andy Wright came back with the quip “‘He might just be the best player in

“The Challenge Ahead” from ‘The Outer Eye’
Norwood travelled to one of its most unhappy hunting grounds, Vermont , for Rd 13 action on Saturday. As it was last week at Noble Park, we had never won there.
The Heart Stopper" from 'The Outer Eye'
After a well earned break over the Queens Birthday weekend, The Norwood boys returned home to host Balwyn in a monster "1st v 2nd" clash at Mullum Reserve on Saturday. Interestingly, Balwyn had played Noble the previous weekend, so had just a 7 day break, whilst we had had 14.
The Complete Performance" from 'The Outer Eye'
Norwood ventured to Seebeck Oval to take on an in-form Rowville in Rd 6 EFL Div1 action last Saturday. We attacked continuously for the first 7 minutes kicking into the strong wind, but despite forcing several mistakes cl
Norwood hosted Knox in Rd 5 of EFL 1st division action, looking to maintain our unbeaten record so far this year. It had rained heavily all Friday night and most of Saturday morning, so the ground surface was carrying plenty of water and was muddy in patches. The U19s had held Knox goalless and the Reserves had allowed Knox just one goal, both posting huge wins, so the platform was set for anot

In Round 3 Norwood hosted its second consecutive game against an EFL powerhouse, this time Noble Park. This was a great opportunity for the club, but we needed to play well to record a win. After another slow start, we evened the game up with a strong second quarter, and further asserted our authority again after half time, running out convincing winners by 26 points.
"Requesting Upgrade to Big 3 Status" from the Outer Eye
Norwood hosted one of the acknowledged "big 3" of the EFL in Saturday's Rd 2, taking on Vermont at home. For some years now, the pundits in EFL ranks have nominated Balwyn, Noble Park and Vermont as 'The Big 3', and probably rightly so given those three teams' domination of the premierships in the competition over the past decade, even lo
