What is ALDI MiniRoos?

ALDI MiniRoos is designed for kids of all abilities, aged 4 – 11 years, the nation-wide initiative uses short, game-based sessions to introduce the sport of football to newcomers in an inclusive way. It focuses on learning new skills, being active, making life-long friends and, potentially, unearthing the next generation of Socceroos or Matildas.


There are two ALDI MiniRoos playing options for boys and girls:

What is it?
Introductory program Short, game-based sessions	Winter season team-based football Small-sided football games
Who is it for?
Boys and girls aged 4-9 Beginning and developing participants	Boys and girls aged 5-11 Children that are ready to and want to play in a football team
When is it played?
Saturday Mornings, 10:30am Starts April – runs during terms 2 & into term 3 (weather permitting)	Sundays - check fixtures April- August Approx. 20 weeks
What does it look like?
1 hour sessions 1 coach per 10 participants Modified games and activities to introduce participants to football	Average 1 training session and 1 game per week Team-based games of 4v4, 7v7 and 9v9 Modified rules to promote inclusiveness, engagement and technical ability
