Position Description – Canteen Coordinator

 

JOB TITLE:

Canteen Coordinator

OBJECTIVE:

The Canteen Coordinator is responsible for all operations relevant to the club’s canteen/kiosk on match days and training nights.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Order and receive stock from suppliers.
  • Maintain sufficient stock quantities.
  • Undertake a monthly and annual stock take.
  • Coordinate weekly shopping for top up of canteen supplies as required.
  • Prepare the canteen for training nights and match days including opening floats.
  • Organise a weekly roster of volunteers for training and match days.
  • Set price lists and ensure appropriate signage is displayed.
  • Count, record and bank takings.
  • Provide necessary financial reports to the Treasurer and Committee as requested.
  • Ensure that canteen procedures are easily understood and visible to rostered on volunteers.

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • The Canteen Coordinator reports to the President, Secretary and General Committee.
  • Liaises with General Committee, sponsors, players, coaches and supporters

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • The Canteen Coordinator is accountable to the President, Secretary and General Committee.

 The estimated time commitment required as the Canteen Coordinator is up to 4 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is positive and enthusiastic.
  • Knowledge of the club’s rules, policies and guidelines.
  • Training in the appropriate food handling courses. (Willing to obtain food handling certificate).
  • Can manage volunteers and delegate responsibilities where appropriate.
  • Willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.
