Reserve Grade fought a good battle but eventually fell three goals short at the final siren.

Senior Coach Jason Bradley's match report follows:
Congratulations to the guys for a very good match and for getting us off to a positive start with a win against our new opponents Camden. Every player should be holding their heads up high as this was definitely a strong team performance. Whilst there were periods of the match where we dropped our concentration levels for small periods during each quarter, we were able to work through them and eventually come out on top.
Best players for the day were (in no particular order) Dale Chivas, Jay Edwards, Chris O’Connor, Steve McWilliam, David Cummings & Glenn Bradley-Labra. If I were to name all the players who played well I would have to name everyone. Special mentions to Kyle McDonagh and Jeff Dryden, who were playing their first games in the top grade and did not look out of place at all there. Thanks go to the three players who backed up from the two’s.
Another aspect of the way we played which was very pleasing from my perspective was that we never dropped our heads and stuck to our game plan. We were relentless on our attack on the ball, we chased, we tackled and we talked which is what was asked of the players prior to the match.
It was also good to have a forward who has strong hands and a steady foot in Chris O’Connor who kicked six goals straight. It was also good to see that while Chris kicked six, the rest of the goals were shared around and there was not a reliance on only one or two players to kick the goals.
Our next match is against the arch enemy Nor-West Jets on their home turf. We must go into this match with the same intensity and attack on the ball as with our first match. If this is done then I have no doubt that we should come away with our second win in as many games.
