With the festive season in full swing, the committee would like to wish all players, staff, families and supporters a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year. With pre-season training now suspended until January 29, Rams Chairman Kevin Tate reflects on what a wonderful year 2010 has been to the club and the roadmap to 2011 and beyond.
"On behalf of the Penrith Rams Football Club, our club chairman Kevin Tate would like to wish all players, support staff, parents and importantly our sponsors being IGA, Ice Break, Goulburn Valley , MD Brick and the Red Cow a safe & wonderful Christmas in 2010.
As we reflect on our outstanding season in 2010, it’s very important that we acknowledge the efforts and enthusiasm of board and working committee members given the significant change both on and off field during the year. As for our players and especially our leadership group in all divisions, your contribution was simply outstanding throughout the year as you drove club expectations, disciplines and ultimately our club culture to new levels that reflected a professional player environment for all to develop within.
2010 will be seen as one of the most successful years in recent times for the club with dual promotions earned after tremendous on field results that culminated in the U18’s winning the flag undefeated, A grade reaching the Grand Final and who can forget our 3 NSW AFL Best & Fairest divisional awards. That said our plans for 2011 are well and truly in motion with pre season already commenced with weekly road runs & early drills being the schedule this side of xmas. Early standouts have been this years A grade dual BF winner Dave “Braddles" Bradley who looks like raising the levels on his already high personal expectations and looks in great condition for a massive 2011. .Nathan Wright is another who has clearly stamped his intentions for a huge 2011 with clear dominance in time trials and has settled back at his home club with ease. Dale Chivas & Jay Edwards are two very classy skilled movers who have also returned home and have been well received by all. Ben Robinson is focussed on fitness in his build up and has been ultra impressive. 2010 Under 18's players moving to the senior ranks next season will infuse excitement into the young team. Matthew Payne and Adam Sharp are two that have worked hard during the off-season and will be an integral part of the 2011 journey. It was extremely pleasing to see many new recruits participate in the pre-season runs and we warmly welcome them to the club.
Again the Rams will be focussing on player initiatives in the new year with the ongoing YMCA gym membership for all players included in registration. There will be full physio cover at all matches along with the appointment of a dedicated fitness and conditioning coach.
So with all the hard work for this year now behind us and some great results achieved.....our focus will now turn to 2011 where we will leave no stone unturned to bring further success once again to the P.R.F.C. Again we will be working hard with our junior feeder clubs to foster and promote the outstanding junior talent in the region to make the Rams a destination for their future
Expectation, drive, passion....use whatever words you want to but the message is very loud and clear from myself, the board, the playing group and is reflected in the clubs current 5 year vision statement.
With the draw to be released shortly, it is a stark reminder that the football season is just around the corner."
