The Penrith RAMS U18s took to Ultimate Skirmish Paintball on Saturday at Yarramundi for their end of season outing. It was an early start but the boys were there ready to rumble.
Split into the Green (herafter called the "teal" team and Black teams it was an ominous early sign when they had a stand off ten meters apart where you could only fire one shot. After 3 rounds there were still 5 black team members not hit! I think some of the boys were still half asleep.
Fog was a problem early on - fogging up inside your googles that is! Maybe that was why the teal team couldn't hit the side of a barn. The black team were slow to start and the green team won early. But the Black team dominated on the fortress and when Theo 'The Terminator' Paneras stepped up it was game on. He should have stuck to terminating because his strategic ideas - we all remember "lets get to that corner shed" - were dreadful!
A highlight was the gauntlet run by Will 'Birthday boy' Taylor and Nick 'the Body' Adams. There were over 50 guys lined up giving it to the gauntlet runners - gutsy effort boys.
The games went both ways but ultimately the black team dominated (the author was obviously in the black team). The "Teals" will have to wait till next Saturday at Blacktown for their revenge
There were bruises, stories, bruises, a bit of blood and more bruises - but it was all in fun. Until Ben Mayer unleashed on Theo that is!
A special mention to the slightly over 18s of Rob Swarbrick, Theo Paneras and Mick Walker for not being scared to step up - Rob Murie where were you !?!?
A good day out, but the resounding theme at the end of the day was that next time we should just go karting. Told you it was gonna hurt!!!
