Welcome to the ninth edition of Ramstats, covering the weird, wonderful and sometimes wacky world of the statistics and history of the Penrith Rams AFC.

2. Reserves (Div 3) v Gosford - Rd 9

SCORING & MARGINS
SCORING
* Senior Grade's score of 8.6 (54) was the 14th 54 point score in the history of the club (2 by 7.12, 12 by 8.6), and the second this season (Senior Grade also scored 8.6 54 against Macquarie Uni in Round 4). The Rams have only ever won once with this score - that occasion being by Reserve Grade against Blacktown (version 1) at Whalan Reserve in 1986. Senior Grade first kicked 54 points for the club against Liverpool at Sales Park in 1983.
* Reserve Grade's score of 17.12 (114) was the 6th score of 114 points (1 by 16,18, 4 by 17.12, 1 by 18.6) in the 272 century and over scores the Rams have kicked. The score was never kicked in the 80s by the club - if was first scored by Senior Grade against Hawkesbury at Greygums in the first round of 1992 (the replay of the 1991 Grand Final). Nor-West Jets copped its most recent occurrence (before this round) as well - at the hands of Reserve Grade at Bensons in 2012. 114 points has never let the club down, always winning, with the lowest ever winning margin with the score being 41 points (in the 1992 match referred to above).
* Third Grade's score of 10.7 (67) was the 16th 67 point score in the history of the club (2 by 8.19, 2 by 9.13, 12 by 10.7) and was only the fifth occasion the score has won for the club (with Third Grade's 61 point margin being the biggest of those five wins). The score was first kicked by Reserve Grade in 1981 in their win against Uni of NSW at Deerubbun Park - in the club's third ever game - and, prior to this instance, most recently occurred in 2013 when Senior Grade went down to North Shore at Greygums Oval by 2 points. That game is not the lowest loss with a 67 point score however, Senior Grade went down to Parramatta at Greygums in 2006 by 1 point - 9.13 (67) to 9.14 (68).
* The Ramettes kicked 16 points, the 13th instance of this score in Rams history (all 2.4). This score has obviously never won for the Rams, the lowest loss the club has suffered with this score being 13 points by Reserve Grade against Mac Uni at Greygums in 1996. Sixteen points first occurred in 1982, by the Under 18s against HMAS Nirimba at HMAS Nirimba, and before this instance it was most recently scored in 2012 by the Under 18s against UNSW/ES at the Village Green.
* The Under 19s' score of 6.7 (43) was the 11th in the history of the club (10 by 6.7, 1 by 7.1). The score has won once for the club, and by 20 points at that - when Senior Grade defeated North Shore at Greygums In 2012. The score first occurred in 1986, by Senior Grade against Manly at Sales Park (losing by 150 points!), while it most recently occurred prior to this occasion in Senior Grade's win over North Shore.
WINNING MARGINS
* Reserve Grade's 67 point win was the 4th by the club (2 by Senior Grade, 1 by Reserve Grade, and 1 by Age Grade). The margin first occurred in 1999, when Senior Grade defeated Wollongong at Greygums Oval and most recently had occurred, prior to this occasion, when Senior Grade defeated Moorebank at Monarch Oval in the opening round of their 2011 premiership season..
* Third Grade's 61 point win was the 9th win by that margin by the club (1 by Senior Grade, 3 by Reserve Grade, 3 by Third Grade and 2 by Age Grade). It first occurred in 1986, when Reserve Grade defeated Baulkham Hills at Kellyville Country Club and most recently, before this round, in 2012 when Reserve Grade defeated UNSW/ES at Greygums Oval. Third Grade's 67 point score is the lowest score to record a 61 point win for the Rams (the previous lowest being 76 points in Reserve Grade's 2012 win over UNSW/ES).

VENUES
* The Rams (via Senior Grade and the Ramettes) played their 25th and 26th games at North Dalton Park, after first playing there in 1995. This ground is a very unhappy hunting ground for the Rams - our record there is 3 wins and 23 losses, with a further loss by forfeit. Two of those wins came on the one day as well - on one of NDP's finest wild and windy days in 1999 when both Senior and Reserve grades won - the combined scores of the two games being Penrith 12.12 (84) to Wollongong 7.10 (52). Senior Grade holds the record for the Rams' highest score there - 14.13 (97) in 2000, the only other occasion the Rams have won at North Dalton Park.
* Reserve Grade recorded the club's first win at Adcock Park, at the third attempt. The club first played there in 2012. Reserve Grade's score in this round (17.12 114) is easily the highest score recorded in Penirth's three games at Adcock Park.
* Under 19 Grade played the club's 51st game at the Macquarie Uni main oval. The club first played there in 1981, on 18th April - Penrith's second ever game. Despite winning by four points, the club again lost the match due to fielding unregistered players. The complete record at the ground is Penrith 12 wins, 39 losses - with a further two matches abandoned and one loss by forfeit. The club's highest score on the main oval at Macquarie Uni is Reserve Grade's 29.15 (189) in 1982.
* Third Grade took Penrith's record at Greygums to 218 wins, 256 losses, 2 draws and 9 abandoned. Following on from Senior and Reserve Grade's highest score on the ground, Third Grade's highest score is a rather measly 11.9 (75) against UTS in 2013.
