Auskick kicked off last Wednesday afternoon with some much needed help from AFL due to numbers.
There were about 50 kids that had registered and paid and some others that just wante to see what Auskick was all about. 10 of this group came back at end of the session to say they will be registering so we should be targeting around 70 kids by next week.
This is a huge result for the Tigers in future for player retention especially, as we will target them towards the Under 6 program when it gets uinderway.
Auskick Co-ordinator, Rob Purves, was assisted by Seb Rogers and new recruit from the Hampden LeagueJack Cullinane and Rob tells us that his aim is get a few more senior players on board.
Steve Wildschut Development Coordinator for AFLQ was on hand to give a hand and was greatly impressed. He told us, "It was a very professional look that you delivered with Karen and Kylie assisting with the rego's along with Seb and Jack as assistant coaches to you."
He went on to say, "The new strategy has certainly worked and now we look forward to transitioning as many as possible to club footy. I would like to come up again in the coming weeks to take some footage of your sessions and use Noosa as a benchmark for the region given the number of participants, your professionalism and likely transitions to club footy."
Well done to Rob and his band of assistants.
