Quake Youth Win State Championships
The FNSW State Championships were held last weekend and Quake's Youth team were crowned champions after winning all their games and scoring a golden goal in extra time of the final.
Congratulations go to all our teams who competed over the weekend and a big well done goes to the 14 Boys who made the Quarter Finals.
But it was the Youth team who flew the Quake flag high winning all their pool games and coming from 0-2 in the semi to knock off Sutherland and 0-1 in the final against Rovers to win it in extra time after hitting the post with just 2 seconds left in normal time.
A remarkable achievement with just 6 players in the sqaud - one of whom broke a toe in the semi and missed the final. They were more than capably asssited by two 16 year olds and two 15 year olds from our 16 Boys. The boys' ability and spirit were harnessed well by Nathan Clissold's calm and decisive coaching - his first major solo outing as a coach.
Well done Shannon Fielding, Anson Gilligan, Conor Irwin, Shaun Irwin, Trent Sierra and Connor Powers from the Youth squad & Harry Bagot (16), Bradon Clissold (16), George Tsokos (15) and Daniel Blachura (15) from the 16 Boys on winning the title.
