PBC Magpies– 2023 GCJBL Information and Registration
We are now taking registrations for the 2023 GCJBL winter competition.
Please read ALL Information below before Registering your Child/ren.
The Gold Coast Junior Basketball league (GCJBL) is the Premier Gold Coast Junior Basketball Competition. Its purpose is to provide a competition pathway for junior basketball players on the Gold Coast.
The League consists of 12 clubs: Amigos – Banora Point, Burleigh Blades, Gold Coast Celtics, Heat Basketball Club, PBC Magpies, Pacific Pines Panthers, Somerset Spartans, (Somerset College students only) TSS Suns, (TSS students only), Varsity Vipers., Kings Basketball Club (Kings Christian College students only), Central Stars, Lindisfarne Lions (Lindisfarne College students only).
During the course of the winter season PBC will play against these clubs.
Competitions age groups are changing this year!
Boys U12,14,16,18 and 21 age groups
Girls U12,14,16 and Open Girls (U16-U21) *U16 players are only eligible to play division1
&
Mixed U10's

Please be aware, Gold Coast Basketball reserve the right to change playing dates and times. PBC Magpies endeavours to notify each team of alterations as soon as possible.
The season includes: Four grading rounds, 14 regular season competition rounds, semis (top 4 teams in each competition only) and finals (Winners of the semi-finals only).
There will be split rounds this season. A split round is a round that takes place over multiple weeks. During a split round a team will only participate in one of the dates.
GCJBL Venues
The GCJBL will predominantly be played at the Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre at Carrara, we will also be utilising Tallebudgera Rec Centre and Somerset College on occasions.

Competition Fixtures
All game times are issued by Gold Coast Basketball. PBC Magpies have no input to the location, court, time, or day that the games will take place.

Under 10s Born 2014 or younger

Under 16 Born 2008-2009
Under 18 Boys Born 2006-2007

Open Girls Born 2003-2007 (2009-2010 only if playing Division 1)
We will CONSIDER any requests for players to play together – all requests must be received by email by 14 January 2023 at pbcmagpiesbb@gmail.
Trials Dates
Tallebudgera Rec Ctre:
Compulsory Trials will be held on Saturday 21st January 2023.
Please see attached Document for age groups and trial times.
We are taking names & registration for U21's.
Players CAN NOT trial if they are not registered & full or 1st instalment, paid to the Club.
Club Fees
PBC Magpies is a non for profit organisation and we endeavour to keep our club fees to the absolute minimum.
PBC Magpies Club fees for Winter 2023 will be $380
We are offering several payment options this season:
- Palm Beach Fee full amount $380 paid directly to the Club plus GC/BQ registration of $150 via GameDay link
- Palm Beach 1st Instalment of $200 paid directly to the Club plus GC/BQ registration of $150 via GameDay link.
The 2nd instalment of $180 will be required to be paid directly to the Club prior to 31st March 2023.

2023 Gold Coast Basketball and Basketball Queensland Registration Information
All players must be registered with Gold Coast Basketball and Basketball Queensland to be eligible to participate in the 2023 GCJBL competition. The registration period for each product last for 365 days.
This payment goes directly to Gold Coast Basketball and Basketball Queensland.
This fees must be paid before a player can take the court.
If your player already has a current registration with Gold Coast Basketball and Basketball Queensland, you will not need to pay this fee until your previous one has expired.
Players aged 10 years and older
Basketball Queensland Registration Fee $73.88
Gold Coast Basketball Registration Fee $76.12
Total $150.00
Players aged under 10 years
Basketball Queensland Registration Fee $36.94
Gold Coast Basketball Registration Fee $53.06
Total $90.00
Uniform Information
Every player must have a reversible singlet. We thankfully have a new supplier. More info is to follow on how to order.
Cost of uniform is $60 – Numbers will be allocated to new players.
Club Training
Once teams have been selected and coaches are appointed a Facebook post will be issued with all information.
Any person interested in coaching a team or your child's team in 2023 please email the club on pbcmagpiesbb@gmail.com advising age group & your child’s details etc if applicable.
As a 100% volunteer club we need parents, carers and friends to assist with coaching and managing teams, if we don't get volunteer's we can't nominate teams.
Gold Coast Basketball Representative Season:
To represent Gold Coast Basketball in the SQJBC season; all players must participate in 50% of the 2022 Winter Season games to be eligible to Trial. Summer league is NOT an eligible competition.
