Reserves
Full Match Report:
The Reserves welcomed back some new and old faces on Saturday in their game against Swan Hill. The inclusion of these players certainly allowed the boys to field a stronger team with the end result being a much improved performance.
The Swans came out of the blocks running scoring the opening four goals before the Dogs moved the ball forward. But thanks to Ross Dadds working hard around the packs and Hubba Kelly havean influence across half forward, the Dogs managed two late goals.
The first was thanks to Michael Crowe who found Craig Fletcher with a nice pass, allowing him to mark and goal from 25 metres. Shortly after Fletcher was again involved as he worked hard at ground level to find Sean Sennar with a handball allowing Sennar to snap a lovely left foot goal from 35 metres.
The second quarter was a real battle of the defences, with the Dogs defence being held together by Barry Benfield, Joe O’Reilly and Corey Frost. The only two goals of the quarter were to the Dogs courtesy of Sennar, his second, and Ollie Wise to have the Dogs trailing by just 5 points at half time.
The Swans really lifted in the third term as they pushed hard to open up a break heading into the hard term. Andrew Merritt, Gary Goodes and Michael Crowe continued to work hard but the Dogs were unable to score a major for the quarter.
Sennar, Benfield, Kelly and Merritt all lifted another notch at the beginning of last quarter as the Dogs took the ball forward numerous times. Two goals to Sennar gave the Dogs a sniff of pulling off an upset. The Swans managed to kick the next however Sennar responded quickly with his fifth to keep the Dogs some chance.
However the Swans held strong and managed to score two more goals to put the game beyond the Dogs grasp.

First Quarter:
The Colts finally took the field with players on the bench thanks to the assistance of the Under 15s, with Zac Pearse, Dylan Charleson and Darcy Bibby all offering their services for the game.
From the opening bounce it was all the Dogs as they attacked immediately after Bryce Delmenico won the ball to drive it forward where David Baker rove the ball from the pack and then snap a wonderful 45 metre goal.
Zac Rundell-Gorden then found his brother Luke with a lovely pass who in turn hit up Kenny Echaluce who handballed to Mitch Seton-Stewart onto Jakob Templeton who kicked long to Matt Lanigan over the back of his opponent who marked and played on to his a running 35 metre goal.
After a snapped behind to Echaluce, Swan Hill made their first forward move but strong work down back from Brock Storer, Kaylem Hartley, Zac Pocock and Julian Bishop help keep their score to just a behind also.
Seton-Stewart was working extremely hard across the centre of the ground as he again belted the ball into the forward line where Echaluce was again involved by knocking the ball to allow Lanigan to soccer a lovely goal.
Hartely then found Seton-Stewart who handballed to Templeton who kicked to Storer, having drifted forward, who had the ball knocked clear just as he appeared set to mark, but his recovery was outstanding to follow up and snap a wonderful 35 metre goal.
Again Hartely kicked to S-S and with a lovely pass he found a leading Lanigan who marked and kicked truly from 30 metres. Templeton and Luke Rundell-Gorden worked hard on the outer ball to allow Templeton to drive the ball long where Echaluce swooped on the loose ball and took on three Swans defenders, and won, then handballed to Jake Gilbert who goaled from 15 metres out.
Seton-Steward and Delmenico then combined to find Luke R-G and just as the siren sounded his lovely 45 metre drop punt went sailing through the centre to give the Dogs their seventh for the quarter.
Quarter Time Scores: Tyntynder 7-2-44 to Swan Hill 0-1-1
Second Quarter:
The Dogs immediately went into attack as Luke R-G kicked long to the pocket where Lanigan gathered the low ball to mark beautifully. His kick from 50 metres out to the top of the square was marked by Barker who played and goaled, just like he did in the opening minute of the first quarter also.
The Swans seemed more desperate and they attacked a number of times, but the fine marking of Storer and the strong defence of Zac R-G, Will Smith, Cas Mitchell, Mohammad Mahdawi and Dylan Charleson made them really battle for the two behinds they did manage.
Hartley had a couple of chances to goal for the Dogs but was off line on both occasions, then Lanigan also missed from a set shot after receiving the ball from Luke R-G.
Seton-Stewart, dominating the middle of the ground, found Delmenico who marked strongly and goaled to get the Dogs back on track.
Echaluce and Baker then both also had chances to goal but they too were off target. Templeton, winning a number of hard balls, found Hartley at Centre Half Forward who marked well and then with an excellent pass into space which allowed Lanigan to mark well on the lead. Despite a terrible looking kick, full points were recorded.
Just as the siren sounded to end the quarter, Delmenico’s long shot sailed over the back for the Dogs sixth behind of the quarter.
Half Time Scores: Tyntynder 10-8-68 to Swan Hill 0-3-3
Third Quarter:
Coach Collins asked for more at the major break, seeking forwards to balance and seek the best option when heading to goal.
Pocock to Lanigan who mark, played on and from thirty metres directly in front, you guessed it, a behind.
It was that man Kenny Echaluce, having a blinder, who did manage to split the big sticks, after he swooped on the loose ball off the pack after Luke R-G had kicked long to the forward line. And he kicked another shortly after thanks to Lanigan keeping the ball in play after it appeared likely to run over the line, allowing Echaluce to swoop and snap a clinker.
Templeton then won the centre clearance and found Lanigan who with a left foot pass found Pocock who marked strongly and goaled.
The Swans pushed forward a couple of times but the Dogs remained strong, with Storer being like a rock at Centre Half Back.
Seton-Stewart, how many touches can won player have in a game, then found Echaluce, now taking marks, and playing on, to kick long to the square where Pearse took a beauty and then kicked truly.
Luke R-G then kicked into the 50 metre circle where Lanigan took a strong contested mark, and then slotted through a wonderful 45 metre goal.
Storer continued to dominate across half back, as he again won the ball, finding Delmenico, onto Pocock, two bounces and into an open goal, but again the kick was off line resulting in just a minor score. This was followed by behinds to Echaluce and Bishop, both very gettable shots on goal, so after five straight goals the Dogs finished the quarter with three straight behinds.
Three Quarter Time Score: Tyntynder 15-12-102 to Swan Hill 0-5-5
Final Quarter:
Delmenico won another centre clearance and kicked long to the square where Lanigan gathered, handballed to Echaluce who goaled.
The Dogs were now applying full pressure and from a boundary throw in, Hartley won the ball and dished off to Lanigan whose snap brought up full points. Hartley then won the ball out of the centre, long to Centre Half Forward, where again it was Lanigan who found himself with the ball but this time he missed a sitter from straight in front.
Templeton took a great mark from the kick in, then kicked into the square where Baker marked and goaled. Will Smith, having drifted forward following his opponent, worked really hard under the pack to gain a free, then hit up Hartley, who marked and goaled from 35 metres.
Baker then took a spectacular mark at Centre Half Forward, quickly moved the ball to Lanigan who marled and goaled from 30 metres out.
Templeton, Seton-Steward, Bibby worked hard to again keep possession allowing Delmenico to kick long to square where Lanigan marked and goaled again to give him 8 for the game.
Bo and Cas Mitchell, Gilbert, Zac R-G, Charleson and Storer just kept repelling all forward efforts the Swans made, with Bo then finding Lanigan on a lead and he again brought up full points.
With seconds remaining on the clock, Seton-Stewart kicked long to the goal square where Lanigan marked, played on and kicked his tenth in a fine display of forward play.
This was a fine win by the Dogs, ably led by Bryce Delmenico, Jacob Templeton, Mitch Seton-Stewart and Luke Rundell-Gorden, supported by youngsters Gilbert, Zac Rundell-Gorden, Charleson, Bibby and Pearce, held firm down back by the Mitchells, Storer, Mahdawi, Bishop and Smith, and capped off up forward by Hartley, Lanigan, Echaluce, Pocock and Baker.
