TYNTYNDER hosted Nyah Nyah West United (NNWU) in their round eight clash on Saturday and recorded their third win of the season in a welcome return to form.
The Bulldogs moved a step closer to the top five with a dogged 34-point win over the Demons at a slippery Alan Garden Reserve.
Tyntynder did have to withstand a valiant United comeback in the third term - which saw the margin to cut to 18 points, but the Dogs kicked away again in the final quarter to win, 15.14 (104) to 10.10 (70).
The game was played initially in perfect football conditions no wind and lovely sunshine, however this all changed after half time as the rain pelted down for a period of time, resulting in the game becoming quite scrappy and causing a flurry of behinds.
The centre square became muddier which made it difficult for both sides to use the corridor effectively.
The Dees jumped out of the blocks in the first quarter with their ruckman Ross Rohde getting first use of the ball and Lance Oswald's precise delivery gave full forward Jake Hogan every opportunity to score.
Hogan did but miss on his first attempt but soon redeemed himself minutes later converting from inside 50.
United looked to have the majority of the ball early, working it well out of defence until Dogs coach Simon Bunyan stamped his mark on the game, exploding out of the centre and kicking the host's first major for the game.
Tyntynder youngster Brock Storer made his debut, getting his hands on it early and showing no signs of nerves.
It was goal-for-goal in the first term, neither side allowing their opponent to gain ascendancy.
Inaccurate kicking by the Dogs kept the Dees in the game.
