The Tyntynder vs Cohuna game on Saturday June 4th will feature the second annual Beyond Blue Cup honouring Leon Hipwell, a former member of both Tyntynder and Cohuna Football Netball Clubs.
Information will be handed out at the gate, the club's notice board will feature information on mental health issues, senior players from both clubs will wear blue arm bands to raise awareness, and the 'Cup" will be presented to the winning Senior coach at the end of the game. In it's second year, the Leon Hipwell Cup match will be played annually between Tyntynder and Cohuna. Tyntynder again hosts the Cup in full co operation with Cohuna FNC because of a draw that sees our clubs play off only once during the 2011 home and away season.
Sporting clubs are often the heart of many rural communities. Build your game (BYG) is funded by Beyond Blue, the national depression initiative which works to raise awareness of depression, anxiety and drug related problems. BYG is a program of the Australian Drug Foundation, and it's local community partner is Northern District Health service.
Tyntynder Football Netball Club promotes good mental health. Good mental heaalth builds stronger clubs and helps everyone lift their game.
