The Under 15's and Under 13's travelled to Cohuna for the second week of finals and both teams came away with respectable wins. The Under 13's had won the Qualifying Final the previous week and took on end-of-season ladder Leaders Kerang who had narrowly beaten them in their only previous meeting. Thanks to a great team effort the "Young Pups" were able to rise to the occasion and get the job done - a Grand Final berth is their reward. They lead by 19 points at the main break, but this was trimmed to 13 points at the last change. Lead by Tom Sala, Henry Woodward and Lachy Carroll the Dogs pulled away to win by 28 points; Tyntynder 6-5-41 to Kerang2-1-13. Other valuable players in a top team effort were Pat Crowe and Koby Stanley, mobile ruckman Henry Woodward and tear through defender/onballer Kayle Kirby.
The under 15's were able to bounce back from a heavy loss in the first week of finals and won in great fashion by 59 points. After an inaccurate opening they got their game together in the second term and had a 15 point buffer at half time. They kep their opponents goalless in the 'premiership" quarter and headed for home 27 points in front. Seven goals to one in the last term was more than enough to get them into the Peliminary Final. Better players were Jesse Palmer, Darcy Bibby, Jordan Anderson, Brody Hartley, Cael Price and Blake Ward. There were eight goal kickers which should hold them in good stead for their next crucial clash wth Kerang. Multiple goal scorers were Jesse Palmer, Tom Gilbert, and Blake Ward. Coach Joe Bibby was also very happy with the under 13's who stepped up to assist his team. All had just run out four tough quarters in their final so another 4 quarters in warm conditions on such a large oval meant they would sleep well that night. Final score was Tyntynder 13-14-92 to Woorinen 4-9-33
Good luck to both teams as they head into more finals action. Go Dogs!
