GLEN Domaille smelt a rat last Thursday night. As he was preparing to make his way home after another night at his beloved Tyntynder Football Netball Club, “Doey”, as he is affectionately known, was told to hang around. The long-time Bulldog member was presented with the Mallee Sports Assembly’s inaugural sport and recreation volunteer award. While it was an occasions that caught Domaille of guard, it was a popular presentation among Bulldog faithful. The Guardian’s ANDREW ROGERS spoke to Domaille about his long affiliation with the club.
TYNTYNDER Football Netball Club paid tribute to a familiar face last Thursday night.
Life member Glenn Domaille has been around the Bulldogs’ den long enough to know most of what’s going on at the club, but the presentation of the Mallee Sports Assembly’s first sport and recreation volunteer award was news to him.
“I thought there was something going on,” Domaille said.
“I was about to leave and everyone was telling me to hang around and tell a joke.
“And I said to them, I can’t tell jokes, there are ladies around.”
Players joined supporters and other volunteers in acknowledging the years of dedicated service Domaille has given to the red, white and blue, with the presentation of the MSA award.
Domaille can be found manning the gate at home games, as well as selling raffle
Domaille said the award took him by surprise.
