Thursday, Jan 9th saw the Toronto Dingos start their pre-season training at Upper Canada College, and the turnout was fantastic! With several regular players unable to make it, numbers were expected to be down, however 28 guys were in attendance, including many new faces. This was great to see and really shows that the Dingos will be a force in both Div 1 and Div 2 again in season 2014.
New players were taken to the side and given the basics about Australian Football, while returning players were put through their paces by Head Coach, Justin Robertson. After training the team headed off to their sponsor pub, the Sports Cafe to have a last beer with one of their favourite sons - Max Parish as he takes off to start a new chapter in his life in Calgary, Alberta.
The next training session will be Thursday, Jan 16th at 9.30pm in the UCC dome. This will be a FREE session, open to everyone interested in playing with the team in 2014. There is no experience necessary and all skill levels and abilities are encouraged to come along and give it a try. The Dingos are one of the most competitive teams in the AFL Ontario league and one of the most social with regular events throughout the year. Please share this information amongst your friends and invite anyone who you think might be interested in coming down to give it a try.
