A football is just a football – or is it?
Most footballs look similar when new on the shelf, but quality footballs separate themselves through feel, performance and longevity.
FIFA Approved footballs must pass the most stringent tests for abrasion, sphericity (shape retention), pressure retention (bounce), water absorption and weight.
During FIFA tests, balls are ‘kicked’ 2000 times into a steel plate, Calibre balls are given an extra 1000 kicks to further ensure quality. To be FIFA Approved, footballs must satisfy a defined set of tolerances and criteria.
Each of the 12 VCL zones will have match footballs supplied by Calibre while production of footballs for the Victorian Premier League is already underway.
There will be no ‘blaming the tools’ this year in any major Victorian football event, the FIFA Approved Calibre ‘Elite Pro’ is the official match ball and is of the highest quality – guaranteed!
