Rewarding Volunteers: Calibre Community Connection

Volunteers are the backbone of sport throughout Australia. They are particularly important at grassroots level, as they volunteer their time to their community so that others may participate in sport. Whether it is running the canteen to setting up goals, clubs are filled with people who every week unselfishly make our football experiences better. Unfortunately, many of these deeds go unrecognised and unthanked.

Calibre and Samba Sports want to acknowledge the contribution of volunteers in our community to the Victorian Champions League and its clubs through its Calibre Community Connection programme.  Each week, a volunteer will win a $300 voucher for a local club of their choice to invest in Calibre football equipment. Winners will be announced and notified on Tuesdays at 2pm AEDT on weeks following VCL fixtures on the Football Federation Victoria website.  All weekly winners will also be in the running to win the Volunteer of the Year award to be announced at the VCL’s annual Gold Medal Night.

Calibre is the official match ball of the VCL and the production of footballs for the Victorian Premier League has begun.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
