Calibre Community Connection
The inaugural Calibre Community Connection Volunteer of the Week award has been won by Allison Lewin.
Allison is currently a volunteer at the Loddon Mallee Lightning Football Club and Swan Hill Soccer Association and worked tirelessly over last weekend’s Victorian Champions League (VCL) Gala Weekend in Mildura.
Running the canteen over a VCL Gala is not an easy task, however Allison volunteered her time to pre-order food and liaise with suppliers to make sure neither players nor parents went hungry or thirsty. During the weekend she was always on hand to help and manage with the canteen. Her positive and humorous nature always put a smile on her customer’s faces and the Loddon Mallee Lightning Committee is grateful for Allison’s work.
Allison epitomises the volunteer spirit and it is people like her that are vital in making football matches and Galas successful. She is now eligible to win the Calibre Community Connection Volunteer of the Year award to be announced at the VCL Gold Medal Night.
When speaking of the VCL Gala Allison said, “It was a long but rewarding weekend.”
As for her local football club, Allison has elected the Swan Hill Soccer Association to receive the $300 Samba Sports voucher to invest in football equipment.
