Preperations for VCL now in full swing
Preparations for Season 5 of the Victorian Champions League (VCL) are now well advanced with the proposed kick off on the weekend of 20/21 October and finish on 15/16 December. The structure of the competition is likely to include 6 Gala weekends - 4 regional and 2 metropolitan Melbourne – each providing an environment for FFV’s talent scouts to identify players.
Many zones have confirmed coaches and have announced trial dates. Make sure you keep an eye out on your local VCL zone’s website for information on trials and how to register your interest. All eligible players will also receive an email invitation to register in their relevant zone’s trials when the dates are finalised.
As it’s done in the previous 4 years, this season of the VCL will continue to be an integral part of the player pathway. Players in younger age groups will be indentified throughout the season for State selection while the U17 boys will have opportunities to be selected in a Youth Program who play against A-league teams, such as Melbourne Heart, and are offered opportunities for further development.
