Final Squads Taking Shape
Selection trials for the majority of our teams have now been completed. After a very busy 3 weeks that saw over 350 players try to impress the selectors, we have now identified our final 20 players in *each age group.
This year North East Diamonds FC has decided to introduce 'Train-on' players as part of the final group of 20 players who are selected. Each squad will include 4 Train-on players.
'Train-on' players will receive the same training and apparel as full squad members, however they will only be required to participate in official VCL matches if a squad member becomes injured or unavailable. They will also participate in practice matches where necessary.
The introduction of 'Train-on' positions provides an opportunity for players who may not have been selected for the final squad to participate in the VCL program. It will also allow for easier management of weekly playing rosters and will help coaches plan effectively for any absentees in their squads.
*U17 Boys final trials will be conducted on W/C Sept 26th.
