Trials off to a good start
Around 350 players from NE Zone clubs have shown off their skills in the first week of selection trials for the North East Diamonds. The level of interest in the Boys age groups has meant that we have had to split each age group into 2 groups for the first stages of the trials. Our U13, U15 & U17 Girls groups have also seen strong numbers of players looking to secure a spot in this year’s squads.
HZC, Vaughan Coveny, has been very impressed with the standard of the players at the trials; "It's been a busy week with so much interest across all of the age groups. The level of skill and enthusiasm from the players is fantastic and it's going to be a tough job getting down to selecting the final squads".
The 2nd week of trials gets underway on Monday at St Monica's College, where "Group 1" U13 & U14 Boys will try to impress the selectors.
Emails will be sent to all players to remind them of the dates, times and venues for upcoming trials.
