Dixon Field Upgrade
Over the next couple of weeks you may notice some big and exciting changes at our home ground, Dixon Field.
WHAT IS CHANGING?
We are planning to relocate the current U10 & 11's pitch next to the training ground alongside the U8 & 9's pitch. The club has ordered new portable goals for this pitch to replace the current ones as we have deemed them too dangerous.
We are also extending the length of the U12-18's ground in front of the council building.
WHY THE CHANGE?
A recent audit of our pitches found that our junior members have been playing on grounds smaller than the minimum requirement. This has been a major disservice to our young stars so we're ensuring we have the correct sized grounds to give our members the best chance to develop their game.
Current Dimensions | Required Dimensions | |
U8 & 9's | 40m x 30m | 40m x 30m |
U10 & 11's | 60m x 30m | 60m x 40m |
U12 - 18's | 85m x 55m | 90m x 50m |

WHY ONLY ONE PITCH FOR U8 & 9'S?
U8 & 9's have the shortest game time so we will been able to utilise 1 pitch more often. It also means we can keep our members as close to our new building as possible, so that we can all enjoy the new facilities. If however we find that using one pitch is not sufficient, we are able to utilise the space where the current U10 & 11's pitch is, although the location is not ideal.
DOES THIS REDUCE TRAINING SPACE?
This will see less space available for training however this season we have less teams training on the same night, meaning the demand for space has also reduced. Portable goals does allow us to relocate the ground again at anytime, although we do not anticipate the need for this.
MAP NOT TO SCALE
We hope you enjoy the new setup as it will provide the correct sized grounds and a safer environment for our youngest members to make the most of their soccer skills.
