Power will struggle to make the finals after they had a heartbreaking 4 point loss to the Magpies.
In windy conditions and with the Power needing the win to play finals it was the Magpies that started the better as they used the tricky wind to their advantage as they kicked 5 goals to the Power’s three to take a 14 point lead at quarter time.
An early goal to the Magpies got their lead out to 22 points before Josh Lewis and Nathan Rhodes tried to get the Power back into the game and with 2 goals to Corey Smith the Power reduced the margin to 12 points by half time.
Billy Raggett was playing well in defence for the Power but he was struggling for helpers as the Magpies with 3 goals for the quarter increased their lead to 19 points by the last change.
An early goal to Alex Wallis had the supporters vocal but the Magpies were able to reply quickly and with only 6 minutes to go the was still 15 points down but two quick goals to Wallis gave hope with 2 minutes left.
Power got the centre clearance but the Magpies were able to hold the ball in the Power 50 for the last two minutes as the Magpies held on to a 10.11 to 10.7 win.
This was the Powers sixth loss under 22 points for the season and the side needs a big improvement to make the finals with 5 games left.

The Reserves went down by 26 points against the Magpies.
The Power had plenty of the ball in the first quarter, but struggled up forward but the Magpies had not problems when they went forward as they banged on 5 goals as they took a 31 point lead to quarter time.
The Power hit back in the second quarter with Nic Nagle and Mal Macartney leading the way as the Power kicked the first three goals before a late goal to Magpies enable them to take a 19 point lead at half time.
Chris Pringle, Madden Lohse and Paul Phibbs were giving their all for the Power and with youngster Jordan Lavis backing well after the Thirds but the Power couldn’t peg back the amount as they went down 9.4 to 5.2.

The Thirds fell to 4th after they went down to the 6th placed Magpies by 7 points.
The Magpies were able to lead by 6 points by quarter, but the Power hit back in the second quarter with Matt Baker, Lachlan Darby & Kane Mills leading the way as the difference was only 2 points at half time. Magpies stretched the lead out to 12 points by the last change as they held the Power scoreless. It looked all over as the Magpies kicked the first goal of the last quarter, but the Power through Jack Wynne and Luke Mckaskill fought back and when James Hanrahan kicked a goal with Power were within striking distance but the siren beat them has the Power went down 6.3 to 6.10.

The Fourths continued on their winning way with a 57 point win over the Magpies .
The boys were again quick out of the blocks racing to a 28 point lead by quarter time with Shannon Leahy, Mac McFarland and Matt McDonald leading the way and with James Heagney & Mathew Bush picking up kicks.
James Hanrahan and Cam Dutton were great players for the Power and with Jesse O’Donoghue with 2 goals and Matt Walker 3 goals the Power were able to run out comfortable winners 8.10 to 0.1.

Netball
A Grade went down to the third placed magpies by 8 goals. The Power had a slow start in the 1st quarter but the girls were able to come back and pushed the Magpies for the rest of the game. Bec Barber was strong in feeding and working around the goal ring whilst Alicia Leahy did well in closing down the Magpies wing attack but the Magpies were too strong running out 56 to 48 winners.

B Grade came up against the second placed Magpies and suffered a big loss. The girls started slow against the Magpies, changes were made at half time and the girls responded with Lauren Harders and Cien Argus leading the way. Going into the last quarter the girls were more confident and aggressive. Overall the Magpies were just too good as they won 67 to 19.

C Grade came up against a strong Magpies outfit to go down by 27 goals. The girls had a fantastic 1st and last quarter but unfortunately fell down in the second and third quarter. Vanessa Tait and Danielle Dalrymple were the standouts for the Power as they went down 22 to 49.

C Reserve put in a fantastic four quarter performance but unfortunately went down by 6 goals. All the girls played well with Lauren Playford and Jo Sturzaker really standing out put the Power just failed going down 41 to 47.

The 16 and Under went down by 17 goals in their game against the top of the table Magpies. With Emily Boyle, Chelsea Ferwerda and Nikita Bainbridge playing well the Power was able to hold the Magpies to one of their lowest scores of the season as the girls went down 29 to 12.

The 14 and Under girls also came up against the top team Magpies but went down by 27 goals. The girls came out firing in the first quarter keeping the Magpies to only 5 goals. Megan Aitken, Caitlin Livingstone & Katie Bootluck played well and the team showed alot of improvement through the midcourt but went down 9 to 36.

The club’s annual Purple “Andrew Bush Memorial” Day will be held on Saturday 26th July. A hypnotist evening will also be held that night after the game.
The Power takes on Billabong Crows this Saturday at Urana.
