The Power finals chances look remote at best after they went down to fellow finals aspirant Jindera by 19 points at Coreen.
Coach Brad Talbot was a late inclusion for his 250th senior game for the club but it was Jindera that started the better with 2 early goals. Good play by Nathan Rhodes and Doug Lavis saw the Power get on the board but some costly misses from the Power saw them down 4.0 to 1.2 at quarter time.
An early goal in the second quarter to Jeremy Stevenson saw the Power within 10 points, but the Power was struggling with ball control while Jindera looked very composed as they kicked the next three goals as they led 7.3 to 2.5 at half time.
The third quarter was more of an open affair with each side kicking 4 goals apiece with Jay O’Donoghue & Josh Lewis giving their all in the midfield while Tim Cooper & Blaize Naughtin were doing great jobs in defence as the Dogs held their led to take an 11.4 to 6.5 advantage into the last quarter.
The Power gave their all in the last quarter totally dominating the contest with Cooper & Naughtin impassable in defence and with Corey Smith getting plenty of the ball but the effort couldn’t be seen on the scoreboard as the Power could only muster 1 goal 5 behinds for the quarter to the Dogs solitary point as they went down 11.5 to 7.10.
The Power now needs to defeat a very dangerous Holbrook at home as well as third placed Brock-Burrum and hope that a few other results go their way to make finals.

The Reserves played one of their best matches of the season before going down to ladder leader by 19 points.
It didn’t look good early with 3 early goals to the Dogs, but a good goal from Jordan Lavis got the Power on the board as they trailed by 18 points at quarter time.
With Aaron Ray, Madden Lohse, Michael Kreun and Nic Nagle all getting plenty of the ball the Power fought back into the contest as they outscored the Dogs to only trail at half time 3.3 to 5.4.
The Power had a lot of the ball in the third quarter but just couldn’t put the score on the board only managing 3 points for the quarter as Jindera increased their lead to 17 points.
