The Power has kept their spot in the top three with a superb 45 points victory over Rand Walbundrie Tigers at Walbundrie.
This was a huge game for both sides with a Power loss could send them to 7th, while the Tigers after 6 straight wins need the win to stay in touch the top 6.
The Power kicked with the breeze in the first quarter and with Kade Rowe starting brilliantly the Power was on top and wit h2 goals each to Alex Wallis and Corey Smith the Power was about to take a 15 point lead into quarter time.
The Power needed to start up in the second quarter and with Captain Jeremy Stevenson leading from the front with 2 goals and Blaize Naughtin great in defence the Power was able to extend their lead to 18 points by half time.
The third quarter saw the Power get right on top with Brad Talbot and Josh Lewis playing well in the midfield with Russell Anderson and Damien Payne providing a great target up forward the Power kicked 6 goals to 2 for the quarter to take a 43 point lead into the last quarter.
Coach Payne wanted the players to lift again in the last quarter, so they could win all four quarters for the first time this season and with Payne kicking three for the quarter to lift his total to 6 for the game and with all the younger players lifting the Power was able to win the quarter by 2 points as they run out 19.12 to 12.9 winners.
The Reserves just couldn’t get going as they went down by 35 points to Rand Walbundrie Tigers. In a low scoring affair the Power just couldn’t control ball as the Power trailed by 15 points at half time. Rhys Jones was playing a great game in defence along with Steve Talbot to keep the Power within 17 points by the last change. But the Tigers proved too strong in the last quarter kicking 4 goals to 1 to run out 7.7 to 2.2 winners.
The Under 17’s have continued their great season with a 23 point win over the Rand Walbundrie Tigers. The boys started well taking a 15 point lead into quarter time with Cam Dutton and Andrew Phibbs playing well. The Tigers hit back closing the margin to 8 points at half time. Matt Wilson, Finn Reeves and Hayden Fischer were giving their all but the Tigers were still within 9 points at the last change. But the cool heads of Dylan Cornell & Jesse O’Donoghue enable to Power to run out 9.7 to 6.2 winners.
The Under 14’s have moved into 5th spot on the ladder after defeating the 3rd placed Rand Walbundrie Tigers by 10 points. The boys were slow out of the blocks trailing by 11 points at quarter time, but with Deaken Clancy and Cameron Wilson playing well along with Bailey Minogue the Power hit back to lead by 9 points at half time. The Power through Tom Colliver, Alex Lavis and Caleb Kuschert were able to hold the Tigers out as the boys ran out 7.6 to 6.2 winners.
