Eastlake Club will celebrate its 90 year anniversary of the Football Club along with the 25 year anniversary of the Eastlake Demons on Saturday 28 May 2016.
The day will provide an opportunity for past players of the Eastlake Football Club along with past and present players of the Eastlake Demons to come together to reflect on Eastlake’s strong heritage.
Eastlake Football Club started in 1926 and continued as Eastlake until the end of the 1990 season before merging with Manuka / Weston Football Club to form the Southern Districts Demons between 1991 and the end of the 1995 season.
In 1996 the team was rebranded as the Eastlake Demons taking on the Eastlake name and the Manuka colors of red and black to reflect the history of both Clubs.
The Club has always had a rich history and tradition in the local AFL scene. Today, the Club continues to provide opportunities for players across Canberra to play at all different levels from 4 year old Auskick players’ right through the junior divisions to the senior grades. The Club also holds the sole license for the NEAFL state league competition which provides a professional pathway for talented players.
