Saturday - v. Flinders University / Mitchell Park at Fitzroy - Reserves - 12.15, A's - 2.15
Sunday - v. Flinders Park at Fitzroy - Under 18' s - 3.00
It'll be a big day at Fitzroy tomorrow! Not only are we taking on Flinders Uni in the Ressies and Mitchell Park in the A's but we've also got a few others things happening!
It's the 2002, 2003 & 2004 Reserves (B Grade back then!) Premiership Reunions, followed by the 2014 Mouse Cup and Sponsors Night! Everyone's welcome and we hope to see many of the past players at the club to swap stories and catch up with old team mates and mingle with our sponsors. And stick around for the fun of the Mouse Cup!
And to top it off it's Brad Cat Keast's 100th game for the Roys - well done skipper! And a belated congrats to Corey Wheadon for his 100th a couple of weeks ago - good stuff Chooka!
On Sunday our Under 18's tackle Flinders Park with a number of players having had a run in the Reserves and A's last week - let's see if it helps their development.
A couple of big wins last week against Angle Vale - our Ressies got up 13.15 to 6.03 and the A's had a day out winning 38.23 to 3.05! All played well and congrats to Under 18's player Samuel Bugeja on his A grade debut. Unfortunately the Under 18's had to forfeit.
Go U Roys!!!
******** The Bounce *****************
On the back of two defeats to fellow
top four counterparts, it was hard to
see Rosewater upsetting Ingle Farm,
however, for only the second time
this season, the Bulldogs were undone.
The ramifications of the loss
have not affected Ingle Farm as they
still hold top position for the moment
thanks to a healthy percentage
but will be aware of Blackfriars Old
Scholars and West Croydon all vying
for a top two position. Those two
teams clashed in round 15 and Blackfriars
Old Scholars reversed its loss in
round 6 to record a 32 point triumph.
A 7 goal to two final term was
enough to ensure the Hounds are
equal top Bad kicking is bad football
and the Hawks only have themselves
to blame, outscoring their opponents
but failing to capitalise on its opportunities
in front of goal.
Once again, the bottom three sides
were on the wrong end of heavy defeats
to their highly credentialed opposition.
For the second consecutive
week, Fitzroy managed 30 plus goals
as they trounced Mitchell Park. Angle
Vale was not spared either, suffering
another 200 point plus defeat to top
five aspirant, Central United. And
Lockleys is one step closer to securing
a place in the top 5 after a comprehensive
50 point victory against
Mawson Lakes.
