Sam Newman played 300 games for Geelong between 1964 and 1980, winning best and fairest in 1968 and 1975 and was named in Geelong’s Team of the Century. Sam’s media career began at 3AW in 1981 before moving to Channel Seven’s World of Sport. He has been a regular on Channel Nine’s Footy Show since 1994. Sam has been both friend and foe to many of his interviewees and always ensures that his segments are lively and controversial.
Sam will interview Brendan Fevola who played 187 games for Carlton FC between 1999 and 2009, and was their leading goal kicker with kicking 575 goals and He has won the Coleman Medal twice in 2006 and 2009. He moved to Brisbane after leaving Carlton in controversial circumstances, playing 17 games before leaving due to personal problems. He played for Casey Scorpions in 2011 and is currently playing for Yarrawonga. Fevola’s on-field success has been matched by his off-field profile.
