BOB BONNETT, a Garden City boy, came to the club from the South Melbourne Thirds. Although not particularly tall for a key forward his high marking captured the imagination of the supporters from the outset. A reliable kick for goal and an extremely fair player he was frequently subjected to close physical attention by less gifted players but rarely retaliated. Also a remarkably durable player who has given the club long and honourable service. His record speaks for itself.
