The Baldies Seniors had one of their most memorable wins against last year's Grand Finalist Williamstown at Willy today (Sunday). Williamstown had 15 of their Grand Final team members playing as well as new recruit Libba.
With 25 unavailable for various reasons, the Baldies Seniors were reduced to 18 with only one on the bench and 3 players were taken out of the twos after playing full games.
After being down 2 goals at half time, the Baldies were two goals up at the final change but kicking against a 5 goal breeze. They played superb attacking and possession football to kick 2 goals against the breeze and held Williamstown to 3 running out winners by 7 points!
Heebie Graham and SMACK kicked 2 each and everyone contributed with great debuts by Eddy, Sean Dillo and Tonza Keyhoe (has played a game or two long ago).
Scores: Baldies 10-5- 65 defeated Williamstown 9-4-58
The inaugural Baldies Reserves went down by a fair bit but the scoreboard didn't reflect a lot of the great play that was done by the them. Skip would have been very pleased with their first up effort. Well done.
Scores: Baldies 2-4-16 defeated by Williamstown 20-5-125
Trivia question: Who kicked the Baldies Twos first Goal - Answer: Dilly!! Then Eddy put one through.
We have a weeks rest over Easter and then take on Ascot Vale who beat us in the mud in the last game of the year last year. There will be training on Thursday at 7pm as well as Easter Sunday for those who are around at 8:30am.
