Are you looking for an AFL club in Rocky? Are you new to town or been in town for a while and want to give Aussie Rules a go? Look no further than the Mighty Brothers Roos!
Brothers are a warm and caring club who pride themselves on looking after each other on and off the field. Brothers have a large amount of Victorian, NSW and Tasmanian ex-pats who have made their home at Brothers. With plenty of locals at the club, an exciting and vibrant mix of personalities fill the Brothers’ sheds. It also means that many people at the club were once new and know the perfect way to make new players and supporters feel welcome. Not only are players made welcome, girlfriends, wives, children and family are made more than welcome. Whether you would like sit back and chat in the Brothers ‘nursery’ on game day or get more involved with the women’s AFL team the ‘Sisters’ or Brothers’ sister team in the Rockhampton Netball competition, there are many avenues to meet new people. Brothers are also exploring the option of trying to create a football-netball club which would see both sports played on the same day at the same ground similar to country Victoria and NSW leagues.
Brothers field teams in U/11, U/15, U/17, Reserves and Seniors that play all on the one day. Brothers home ground is based at Kele Park near the Rockhampton airport. Training during the season is on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Training nights in the preseason may vary – stay tuned to the website for more details. There is a large talent pool at Brothers with many promising locals rising through the ranks in AFL Capricornia. There are also many players who have played at high levels in the southern states. These include QFL, VFL, VAFA, TAC Cup, Tasmanian FL, Murray FL, Ballarat FL, Southern FL, Geelong FL, Bendigo FL, Riverina FL, Ovens & Murray FL, Hume FL.

Not only do we have a dynamic team, we will also be supported by and working with a team of physios from CQ Physio and Dr Dave Scott from CQU to target weaknesses in individuals’ bodies are show how to strengthen them. Brothers are looking to improve on their 2010 season where both Seniors and Reserves won the competition.
Brothers have a strong off-field culture. Brothers firmly believe in the support and nurturing of our junior players. We also know that a team that is close off the field is close on the field, which is why a wide variety of social events are held throughout the year which caters for every social demographic. We also have a wide range of professions including builders, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, engineers, miners, veterinarians, doctors, podiatrists, coffee shop owners, embryologists, state and local government, agronomists, grain traders, QLD rail, school teachers, tilers, students (school & uni), army, butchers, entrepreneurs and many more.
