With a nice couple goal breeze blowing straight down the ground towards the city end it would be the tigers who won the toss and got first use of the breeze, with the wind the tigers team took advantage and booted five goals for the quarter to the Hawks three behinds.With the wind in the second it was still the tigers on top and the Hawks struggling to chip away at the tigers lead. with two goals to three the tigers extended there lead to go into long break 37 points ahead.
With words of encouragment at half time the hawks produced a better 3rd quarter getting involved in the contest and matching the tigers in the quarter with hawks kicking two goals to one.
With Brad 'Yatsey' Yates, Jason 'Jace' Kirkpatrick, Jack 'Kirky' Kirkpatrick fighting hard to the finish the hawks finished the game with plenty of spirit in the end it was the first quarter that killed them in an otherwise tight game. The tigers running out 31 point winner

With The Tigers getting first use in the first quarter of the breeze the Hawks defence was doing a mountain of work to try stop the tigers from scoring. With use of the wind in the second the hawks found there run controlling much of the second quarter, with a four goal to one second quarter the Uni Hawks took a slight 5 point lead into half time. Ben 'Langers' Langley producing some gut running in the first half and James 'Jimmy' O'Meara leading hard at centre half forward big reason the hawks fought back so strong.
With words at half time from the coach to lock the game down and restrict the tigers use with the wind the hawks tackled and harased the tigers make the game into a hard physical contest making for good viewing. With the hawks down by only 3 points at the last break the signs were looking good for the hawks.
With the three quarter time words of run hard and run the game out it was all left to the 22 to finish the tigers off. But with some bad turnovers coming from skill errors in defence and the missing forward pressure the hawks were under the pump. It was was a brutal physical last quarter the tigers snearing the lead with only seconds remaining to claim a 1 point victory.
