The Darebin Falcons took out the NFL Girls U18s Premiership in sensational fashion playing top team and highly fancied South Morang Lions.
The game was a tough, relentless contest, with the Lions edging further ahead each quarter. By three quarter time you sensed that the large crowd felt the Lions had done enough. However, the game then went up a notch or ten! Coming from 26 points down at three quarter time, and playing as desperate footy as you could imagine, the Falcons drew level with the Lions when the final siren sounded. The Falcons went on to win in extra time adding two points to one.
The final score: Darebin Falcons 7.7 (49) def South Morang Lions 6.12 (48).
