SENIORS
A tenacious Panton Hill side finally got themselves a win against a top four side with a four point win against Mernda today and ensured their spot in Second Division next season.
Future senior coach Joffa Byron kicked the winning goal, whilst his 2015 assistant Tristan Kreymborg kicked 4 goals and Will Box was solid in his final game of his brilliant career as a player and captain.
The Hills started the more determined side, kicking the first 3 goals of the game but in a tight contest, Mernda hit back strongly late in the first term.
From there it was very tight for the rest of the game with the sides drawing level in the last quarter.
The Redbacks were elated with the sound of the final siren and a confirmed place in Second Division next season.
Josh Chapman has continued his late season form with a best on ground performance. Tyler Scarce was in typical brilliant form whilst Brendan O'Connor was the best of the forwards. Jason Evans and Travis Miller played well in the backline and Nathan Hendry was a key contributor on the ball.
RESERVES
Didn't really finish the season off well with a substantial loss to Mernda who look the goods and are likely to take it up to the powerhouse North Heidelberg during the finals.
Despite the often one sided results, there were times when we showed some good form and had the supporters pretty excited.
It's important to note that every week, the boys were happy to pull on the Redback jumper doing the Club proud no matter what.
It's been great the way the boys have "stuck at it" ALL season despite the results and well done Brassey for keeping it all together they way you have this year.
UNDER 19's
Such a wonderful thing for the Club to field the Under 19's this season and no matter what the results might show, it's so good to see the boys enjoying themselves at the Hill where they are clearly "part of the family"
Great work again Burls ...
Bring on 2015 !!!
