One of the biggest crowds we've expereinced at AE Cracknell Reserve for Round 1 of the 2016 Season. The Twilight games are proving to be great draw cards to the people in the Community. Unfortuantely not a great start to the season on field, but off field the Club was very pleased with the days events.
Match reports from our 3 coaches as follows;
Under 19's - Lucas Brass
My boys only had 16, a very galant effort to match it all day over the ground. Hopefully the game brings confidence and lets other possible players know we are fairdinkum. Dan Freeman,Tom Rodgerson and Max Hancock were amongst the best.
Reserves - Steve Layt
Our anticipation leading into Round 1 didn't quite work out the way we planned. With a blend of 10 new players mixed in with the existing group we were looking for a much better result. In saying that we had some patches of quality footy thanks to good efforts by Oscar, Balin, Carson and AJ but clearly not consistent enough. We look forward now to an improved effort this week against another strong opposition in North Heidelberg.
Seniors - Joffa Byron
Disappointing start & not what we hoped for. Credit goes to Diamond Creek for not allowing us to play the way we wanted. With so many new players it's going to take time to gel & get things right so not all is lost. We will improve & look forward to next week.Better players included Reid Staples, Sam Parks, James Course and Daniel Haynes.
Not the ideal way the club wanted to kick off Season 2016. Thanks for all those that came up to the Hill and supported the boys. We know look ahead to this week against North Heidelberg away.
