Official Dignitaries, Politicians, Banyule Council Staff, Special Guests and Life Members of both the Junior Football Club and Riverside Cricket Club gathered for the Grand Opening of the Whatmough Park, Ray Money Pavilion on Sunday 22nd May.
In a gathering of around 150 people in the new social rooms, everyone was treated to some wonderful speeches and high praise of everyone involved in the project. Amongst the many speeches made, Sam Giofre, President of St Mary’s Junior Football Club, and Paul Bohan, President of Riverside Cricket Club, thanked our very own hard working, “Jack of All Trades”, Phil Cattenazzi. Phil was instrumental in the project from the beginning as well as acting as Club Project Manager.
Congratulations Phil on a job well done so that everyone, not only in the Football and Cricket Clubs, but the wider community, can enjoy the magnificent venue now fully complete. We truly have a superb venue for hosting other clubs as we look to our future.
