It was another close game that got away from the senior side last week losing by a point against Heathmont; this being the third game in a row where the result has been a goal or less. Well done to the three Roberts boys who all played together in the seniors last week, Lachlan held his spot in the side after his first game while his twin brothers Jordan and Kieran returned from VFL duties with Northern Blues; a great achievement for the family. The last time three brothers played in the same Upper Gully senior team was back in the 1970’s when Neville Roberts and his brothers played (Including in 1973 when all five brothers played in the same team). The under 19’s had a comfortable win with the new players starting to fit into the side nicely, although their kicking for goal needs some improvement, while the reserves also got back on the winning list with a good win. The President Lunch is next home game on the 5th July; only $20 for lunch and a chance to catch up with past presidents and sponsors and hear about where the club is heading from the President Andrew Derksen; contact Tom Caruso for tickets. Next function will be the IPod night on the 19th July; tickets from Mark Godfrey.
