Great win last week by the seniors in wet conditions at Kings Park to keep a slim chance alive for the finals, they outplayed The Basin in the first half before holding on when challenged in the second half. Congratulations to Jarrod Whiteman on a solid first senior game. The under 19’s were disappointing, even though they were undermanned again, starting off poorly to be 3 goals down at quarter time but then outscoring The Basin for the rest of the game to go down by a couple of goals. The Reserves also went down being unable to consistently play the type of football they are capable of during the game; after doing the under 19’s running duties Andy Lee made a brief appearance in the reserves helping to fill up the numbers alongside Paul Caruso and Jack Thomas who had pretty heavy legs after their second game for the day. Saturday we are at home again this time against Glen Waverley hoping for another win to edge closer to the final five; only the reserves and seniors are playing as the under 19’s have bye. Next function will be the IPod night on the 19th July; tickets from Mark Godfrey. Ladies Race Day will be on the 2nd August; $50 gets lunch and a great afternoon of entertainment; contact Mark Godfrey for tickets. Presentation night this year will be on 3rd October with all four sides together in a big night at the Hungarian Club, $80 per head to celebrate the season in style.
