Plenty of new and returning faces on the track during the Pre Xmas training sessions bodes well for the club to mount a strong challenge in Div 3 next season with the season starting on the 9th April after practice Matches against FTG and Wantirna South either side of Easter. Great to see Tim Riseley named as the 50th best player in the EFL in the recently completed EFL Top 50 Countdown. The EFL released next seasons fixture last week with our first game against Chirnside Park away on the 9th April. Our first home game is the following week against Park Orchards before the Anzac Day clash against South Belgrave on Monday the 25th April at Kings Park. With Scoresby coming down from Div 2 we will play them for the first time in the EFL, having previously played 3 games against them in the CFTGFL during 1954 and 1955. Warrandyte come up from Div 4 after winning the Premiership and will see us renew our battle against them, although we haven’t played them since 2010, they are Upper Gully’s second most played side after Ferntree Gully having played 61 times since 1950. Upper FTG President Peter Hards picked up his new Toyota Fortuner recently (Check out attached photo). “It's fantastic to be able to support your sponsors and FTG Toyota are an important part of our Football Club” said Hards. “The Fortuner is a new concept from Toyota and is based on the very successful Toyota Hilux, it's perfect for our family at this point in time” said Hards.
