Armadale officials are calling on fans to show their support for one of the club’s best former players when Central Coast Mariners take on Perth Glory at nib Stadium on November 23.

Socceroo-in-waiting Trent Sainsbury was an Armadale junior before progressing through the National Training Centre, Australian Institute of Sport and Perth Glory Youth and then signing for the Mariners.

His dad, Scott, was a long-time Armadale player and is one of the club’s biggest fans, regularly attending matches in the WA State League.

Trent is now a key member of the Mariners and helped the club win last season's A-League grand final against Western Sydney Wanderers.

He has carried that excellent form into the 2013/14 season and was recently nominated for the Young Footballer of The Year. That success earned Armadale a $1500 equipment pack and a $1000 sponsor donation.

Club officials are now hoping the club can show its appreciation for Sainsbury’s success by adding a splash of red to the colour at nib Stadium during the Mariners match.

“We want to see as many Armadale fans as possible at nib Stadium wearing the club kit or polo shirt to show support and appreciation for what Trent has achieved,” said president Tony Greipl.

“We hope we can get our hands on some tickets and be able to provide a bit of a discount to fans. And if we get enough interest, we’ll look to put on a bus from our home ground at Alfred Skeet up to nib Stadium and back.

“We all know that every Hyundai A-League game is live on Fox Sports, so it’s also a chance for us to give the rest of the country a little bit of a taste of the Army support.”
