Scott Richardson appointed as Technical Director

Armadale Soccer Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Richardson as the club’s Technical Director. Scott replaces Ian Gillan who has left the Club to pursue his coaching career in Malaysia. The Club wishes Ian well in the pursuit of his goals.

Scott has joined the Club as it prepares for the inaugural year of the National Premier League (NPL) in Western Australia; and he has been closely involved in the club’s preparation for NPL assisting with NPL strategy, player trials and selections, and co-ordination of NPL Development Academies prior to the Christmas break.

Scott comes to Armadale Soccer Club with impressive experience and credentials. He holds the UEFA ‘A’ Licence and a Bachelor of Science - Physical Education (Hons). Scott has held a wide range of coaching and development roles that has prepared him for the challenges of preparing entry into the NPL.

In addition to his role at the Club, Scott is Assistant Director of Soccer and First XI Coach at Aquinas College. Scott has previously held roles at the Perth Football Club, Newcastle United Football Club (England), The Football Association Centre of Excellence Academy (England), Dundee United Football Club (Scotland), and Falkirk Football Club (Scotland).

Testimony to Scott’s skill as a coach comes from Chris McCart, Head of Football Development at Celtic FC who is quoted as saying that Scott’s innovative coaching style, enthusiasm, and willingness to think outside the box is truly amazing. He is a Coach who is passionate about assisting the athletes to learn and improve performance as well as health and fitness. Scott’s continuous desire to develop new methods and strategies to further his knowledge is remarkable.
