Girls Development Program

Well what a month or so it has been for local and national football for us all.
Australia won the Asia Cup with some brilliant games amongst the other nations.
Don’t forget the Canberra United women’s team who won their grand final against Perth.
2015 is shaping up as another huge year for the club especially with regards to girls football.
To kick it off we will again run the highly successful girls development program each Tuesday & Thursday beginning on February 10th @ Waramanga (lower field) from 5pm until 6pm.
The development program is a great way for the girls to start pre season without the need to have a structured team. It is not compulsory to attend nor does it cost. But the more they attend the more the coaches can see their skills development.
We will be focusing on the core skills and later, game skills so they are better prepared for the start of the season.
The target age for the program is from Under 12 thru to Under 17 with older ones being able to demonstrate some of the drills. (younger Players will never be turned away)
The culmination of the programs will be a number of teams entered into the Lightning Tournament on the 11th of April at Mawson.
Grading:- Whilst this program is not an official grading there are some age groups that coaches will be paying particular attention to for the purpose of forming teams into appropriate division for this year.
So, please wear appropriate clothing and foot wear – also never forget your shin pads and a water/drink bottle.
Please arrive earlier to be ready to practice/train/drill/have fun but most of all play football.
Last of all – but first of all, go onto Myfootball club web site and register for Weston Molonglo FC – this way we will know you are wanting to play so we can nominate enough teams with Capital Football. Please tell your friends to register asap too.
