SENIOR WOMEN - State League Div 3

  • Surf Coast 2 V’s Lara 2

The senior women took on ladder leaders and long-time rivals Lara on Sunday. Determined to go out strong from the get go, it was birthday girl Cassidy John who put Surf Coast’s first goal on the board. Sophie Razmara secured our second goal, however Lara’s inform team play saw them score an impressive goal followed by a ‘fluke’ goal which leveled the score sheet.

Despite an fantastic performance from the entire team, it was disappointing not to come away with a win. This is the third draw Surf Coast has had with Lara over the past 2 years.

UNDER 15 BOYS

  • Surf Coast 3 V Barwon SC (White) 2

Overall it was a great, inspiring game from the Under 15 boys. Brian Innis used his speed to go past the defence to slot in the first goal. The team continuously attacked in the first half with swift movement but couldn't add to the score line despite a number of chances. The score was 1-1 at half time.

Into the second half, Steven Tsatsaronis received an awkward ball which he miskicked into the keeper, but the ball spun, the keeper fumbled and it went through!

With no substitutes, the boys had to run out the game without a break. Although tired, we continued to attack in waves and the game was poised at 2-2 with 10 minutes to play… until Finn Paton went on one of his courageous runs down the right wing, centered the ball and Seamus Wakefield made no mistake to put the ball into the net, and securing the win 3-2.

UNDER 13 BOYS

  • Surf Coast 1 V Bell Park 0

Another solid team effort from the undefeated boys, coming away with the win, 1-0 against Bell Park.  The games’ highlight was a free kick by Mylton Bailey where he lobbed the keeper scoring the winning goal. Both defences worked hard and kept it a tight game throughout.

Next week see’s our biggest challenge when the boys take on second placed Geelong at Home who are also undefeated.
